This is the primary activity that brings most guests to this part of the world. Most guest have described the encounter with the mountain gorillas as a life changing experience that every nature lover should look forward to. The lodge basically sits on the south-west buffer zone of the gorilla jungle park and the Nkuringo trail head is within five minute walking distance. From here you can track 3 habituated gorilla groups and the nearby Rushaga (45 minutes) has 6 habituated gorilla groups also offering the intense gorilla habituation experience.

The most iconic of them all is the 17 kilometer hike across Bwindi Impenetrable forest. The walking safaris are guided by local experts that know and love this region that they call home.

Uganda's oldest forest, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, is a varied habitat which means it's the ideal home for a variety of birds, with 350 species recorded, including 23 endemics (90% of all Albertine Rift endemics) such as the Short-tailed Warbler and Blue-headed Sunbird as well as seven IUCN red data listed species.
